Terms & Conditions
Plain-English rules for entering competitions on T88888.me. Also see our Code of Good Practice and Free postal entry page.
1. The Promoter
- These competitions are run by T88888me ("we", "us", "the Promoter"), a company registered in Scotland (company no. [number]), with its registered office at 124 Orchard Park Kelso Scottish Borders TD5 7EJ. You can contact us at [contact email].
- By creating an account or entering a competition you agree to these terms and to our Code of Good Practice.
2. Who can enter
- You must be 18 or over and a resident of the United Kingdom. We may ask for proof of age, identity and address before paying a prize or a withdrawal.
- Our staff, their immediate family and anyone professionally connected with running the competitions can't enter.
- One account per person. Duplicate, shared or fake accounts may be closed and their entries cancelled.
3. Accounts and usernames
- You must give your real full name when you sign up. It stays private and is only used by us for checks, prizes and withdrawals.
- You must choose a public username before entering. Usernames must be 3-20 letters, numbers or underscores and must not be offensive or pretend to be us. You can't change it yourself. Ask us if you need a change.
- Keep your login details safe. You're responsible for activity on your account.
4. How to enter
- Each competition has a skill question. You must answer it correctly for your entry to count. If you answer wrongly, no entry is made and you aren't charged.
- Paid entries are bought with your site wallet. Each ticket costs the price shown on the competition.
- No one may hold more than 20% of the tickets in any round. This includes postal entries.
- Tickets are given out at random from the numbers that are left. Entries are final once made and can't be cancelled or refunded, except as set out in section 13.
5. Free postal entry
- No purchase is necessary. You can enter any live competition for free by post. Postal entries have exactly the same chance of winning as paid entries.
- Send one postcard or sealed letter per entry, showing your username, account email, full name, the competition name and your answer to its skill question. Post it to the address on our Free postal entry page. Bulk entries in one envelope, and entries delivered by hand or courier, aren't accepted.
- A correct postal entry receives 1 free ticket, given out at random like a paid ticket. Entries received after a round has sold out or closed can't be entered into that round.
6. Closing dates and the draw
- Each round closes when every ticket has sold, or on its closing date, whichever comes first. The closing date is 364 days after the round opens and is shown on the competition.
- When a round sells out, the main winner is picked automatically and at random from all tickets in that round.
- If a round reaches its closing date before selling out, the main winner is picked at random from the tickets sold. Any instant wins not yet won lapse. If no tickets were sold, there is no winner.
- A new round of the same competition starts straight after a round ends.
7. Provably fair draws
- Before each round opens we publish a fingerprint (hash) of a secret seed. After the draw we reveal the seed and every ticket, so anyone can check the winner was chosen fairly on the round's proof page.
8. Instant wins and prizes
- Some tickets are hidden instant winners. They're fixed before the round opens. If you're given one of these numbers you win that prize straight away.
- Lucky 8s: if you're given ticket number 8, 88, 888, 8888 or 88888 in any draw (where that number exists), you automatically receive £8.88 site credit per lucky ticket. This is on top of any instant win or main prize on the same ticket, applies to free postal entries too, and follows the site credit rules in section 9.
- Cash prizes are credited to your site wallet. Physical prizes are delivered to a UK address you give us. Where a cash alternative is offered, you can choose it instead.
- Prizes can't be transferred. We may replace a physical prize with one of equal or greater value if it becomes unavailable.
9. Wallet: site credit and cash balance
- Your wallet has two balances. Site credit comes from top-ups, Lucky 8 bonuses and referral rewards. Your cash balance holds prize winnings.
- You can top up by debit card through our payment provider. Credit cards aren't accepted. Any top-up made with a credit card will be refunded and not credited.
- Site credit can only be used to buy tickets. It can't be withdrawn, transferred, exchanged for cash or refunded, so please only top up what you intend to play with.
- When you buy tickets, site credit is used first, then your cash balance. Neither balance is a bank account, and neither earns interest.
10. Lucky 8 bonus credit
- Lucky 8 top-ups give you extra site credit: pay £88.88 for £100, or £888.88 for £1,000. The whole amount is site credit and follows the rules in section 9.
- If a top-up is reversed or charged back, its site credit (including any bonus) is removed. We may change or withdraw the Lucky 8 offer at any time, but this won't affect site credit you already have.
11. Withdrawals
- You can withdraw your cash balance (prize winnings) to a UK bank account in your own name. The minimum is £10. Site credit can't be withdrawn.
- On your first withdrawal we'll ask for your date of birth. Withdrawals are only paid to players aged 18 or over.
- Withdrawals are checked and paid by bank transfer by hand. They can take up to 7 days, but are often quicker. We may ask for proof of identity first.
12. Referrals and spending limits
- If someone opens an account through your referral link and tops up a total of £50 or more (the amount actually paid), you get £5 site credit (for tickets, not withdrawable), once per person referred. Self-referrals or fake accounts aren't eligible.
- You can set a monthly spending limit in your wallet. Once set it's locked, so you can't raise or remove it yourself. Please contact us if you need help. Only play with what you can afford.
13. Cancellations and refunds
- If we have to cancel a round (for example because of a technical fault or a legal requirement), all entries in that round will be refunded to your wallet at the price paid, as site credit. Postal entries will be moved to the next round.
- We may cancel entries and withhold prizes if we reasonably believe someone has cheated, broken these terms or used the site fraudulently.
14. Winners and publicity
- Results show your username, never your real name. Winners, ticket numbers and prizes are listed publicly on our results, winners, leaderboard and proof pages.
- Sharing a winner photo is optional. If you choose to upload one, it will be shown in our winners gallery with your real name.
15. Complaints
- If you're unhappy, please contact us at [contact email]. We aim to reply within 7 days and to resolve complaints within 28 days.
16. Our responsibility to you
- We aren't responsible for entries that are lost, delayed or incomplete, or for problems caused by things outside our reasonable control (such as internet or payment-provider outages).
- Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that can't legally be limited.
17. General
- We may update these terms. Changes will be posted here and won't affect rounds you've already entered.
- These terms are governed by the law of Scotland, and the Scottish courts have jurisdiction. If you live elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.
